PLAN, STYLE, SHOOT, WRITE, PUBLISH. LOVE.
Here at Juniper James, we kinda have a thing for fashion. And photoshoots. And writing about brands, shops and designers that are making a difference. So lets just say, this past week we were in heaven, tickled pink with the fact that we get to call this our “job”.
Sac News & Review asked Juniper James to do a 2 page spread, covering 5 designers who are not necessarily walking the runway for fashion week, but brands that Sacramento should still know about. We were able to plan a photoshoot with 3 of the 5 brands, and we’re pretty stinkin stoked to be sharing them with the whole of Sacramento in one fell swoop.
We want you to see our article and read about the brands,
but here’s a behind-the-scenes look at our photoshoot,
and a little bit of who’s who.
MTX BY MORRIS & TERRY: If you follow us here with any regularity, you’ve heard and seen us rave about how much we love M&T. Check out our personal photoshoot in their new line, see all our M&T posts & read all about how buying MTX helps foster kids. MTX is part of the VIP swag bags at Fashion week, with each VIP receiving one pair of pants, shorts or cropped pants, and a $20 gift card to MTX.
NAKATE: We’ve talked a lot about this company, and very strongly believe in the mission behind it. Check out the other articles we’ve written on Nakate & it’s founder Shanley Knox.
RAMPANT: Featured numerous times here, Jason & his team are on the cutting edge of wearable yet quirky menswear. His pieces have a stylish and unexpected creative flair to them that is refreshingly interesting.
COMPLIMENT JEWELRY: This is a brand-new brand on the scene, and already turning heads. This jewelry line is sweet, handmade and is the collaborative work of a loving couple just spreading goodwill through beautiful jewelry, words of affirmation in each box, and funding an education foundation for the next generation with each purchase. Check out their site.
REJECT: Adrienne Cheng’s women’s line is versatile, chic, and so comfortable to wear. She rocked the runway last summer at Launch, and we can’t wait to see her next line: ’40s hollywood inspired with ethnic prints and patterns.
HUGE THANKS TO:
- ALI MAKE PRETTY / ALI AT DEEDA: hair & makeup for the shoot. Ali is so talented, and easy going. Effortless and efficent, she is a joy to work with.
- KALAH ROWLAND: our Nakate model. Kalah is brand new to fashion modeling, but a complete natural. Looking forward to putting her on many a runway and shoots in the future.
- HOUSTON CASTLEBERRY: our Rampant model. Also brand new to the modeling world, he’s a fresh face for such a bold brand. Thanks Houston!
- ALISON KRANZ: our MTX model. Alison is walking multiple runways for fashion week! Keep your eyes peeled for her this week. Thanks again for coming out!
