VELO & VINTAGE. LOVE.
Darling Readers:
I have to say a huge THANK YOU to all of you who came out to our Velo & Vintage show!
Everything went better than we could have ever anticipated, and it was so great seeing so many of you out to support! Hope you all had as much fun as I did creating the show.

It was PACKED! Over 300 people just at the 8 o’clock show!!
We went into this with a very clear goal: everyone involved will do so on pure contribution, in order to celebrate and bring together the cycling community and vintage clothing community. We accomplished that goal with flying colors. Thank you to EVERYONE involved. You all made it possible to have such an amazing show.
Here’s a little recap in case you missed it….
This is Lorena & Christopher Cabaldon, the Mayor of West Sac, who was our master of ceremonies for the night.
The lovely Lorena of SacCycleChic was my partner in crime planning this whole shindig, and she looked stunning in her black strapless dress from Fringe.
Her blog is chocked-full of chic biking awesomeness, the latest bit of news : tomorrow is Bike to Work Day! So get out on your bike in that fashion-forward work attire & make a statement to Sacramento about green living (and working!).
In conjunction with Bike to Work Day, Bike Fest will be held on the West Steps of the Capital. Lorena will have a booth there, so go by & say hi!
{ Bike Giveaway!! }
The bike in the picture with Chris & Lorena is one of two custom built beauties that will be being given to 2 lucky people at the end of May. As you may know, May is Bike Month! Which is why our show was so timely in celebrating cycling ( right before the Amgen tour and the Bicycle Film Festival this past weekend)! There is still plenty of May left, and a lot of great cycling events to be attended! Go to Mayisbikemonth.com, register & start logging in those biking hours.
How do you win it?? To get in on the running (biking?) for the bike, go on Facebook, become a fan of Hot Italian and May is Bike Month. Then sign up to log your biking miles for the month of May.
They’ll be picking random entries for the winners, so go sign up!

So, Velo & Vintage pretty much rocked my bobby-socks off.
{ We had such great bikes, models, clothes and fun! }
Vintage shops in town were absolute darlings in contributing their awesome fashions, making it possible to represent each decade from 1920′s all the way to 1980′s.
And all the bike shops were not to be outdone by the fabulous models in their vintage gear. We had a very diverse representation of bikes from fixies and tandems to a Bakfiets bike with a huge bucket seat on the front!
{ almost all of the models & organizers… }
{this is me leaving the stage after the last show – SO so happy!! }
I have all the pictures up from the show on our new Velo & Vintage Page! Go check them out, leave comments & become a fan!
I want to do a bunch of mini posts highlighting all the different shops and the models,
but for now,
GET OUT & RIDE A BIKE!
